- Museum Invasion -
Space Invader at the Somerville Museum was our group show. Ran from 6/3 - 7/9/2022. An immersive art critiquing the American immigration experience. Artists of various backgrounds expressed stories of immigration and/or an outsider perspective ("that of an alien"). The show aimed to provoke discourse on alternative ways to think about think about the system we live in. The show is an extension of conversations at Space Invader nightclub, bringing various cultures together through spatial sound listening experience, and discussions of xenophobia and club culture.

‘Space Invaders’ land at the Somerville Museum

From June 3 to July 9, The Somerville Museum will be presenting Space Invaders, a collaborative community art project curated by audio-visual artist Rook Murao, aka SRCFLP, alongside artists Hayato Kawai (Supanoba), Ian Condry (Leftroman), Charles “Charlo” Choueiri (Mr. Improbable), and Mieko Murao.

Part of the intention of the artists was to show that we are all active players in shaping society. By creating this art, they are playing on, interrogating, and bringing new meaning to the term “alien,” while also highlighting its societal damages.
